Firstly, what a night. A proper old-school Jimmies evening. I’d imagine there are a fair few sore heads this morning, but hopefully even more hearts full of pride after a great night celebrating what it means to be a Jimmie.

The club is built on nights like last night. All coming together to celebrate another season in the Blue and White.

For those who unfortunately couldn’t make it to Presentation Night, we wanted to make sure you were still included and let you know the results of last night’s awards.

The winners from the evening were:

Broken Player of the Year – Carl Durham

Despite his setbacks, Carl continued to put his hand up for the team whenever possible not only supporting the team but also influential in supporting off the field.

Management Team’s Player of the Year & Players’ Player of the Year – Alex Madden

A double award winner on the night, Alex was recognised by both the management team and his fellow players for an outstanding season. To be acknowledged by the players management is testament to his commitment, consistency and performances throughout the year, whilst being voted Players’ Player highlights the respect and appreciation he has earned from those alongside him every week.

Young Player of the Year – Niall Harkin

Niall picked up the Young Player of the Year award. Adapting wherever the team needed him and always giving 100% for the shirt. His eagerness to learn, willingness to listen and determination to improve make him a fantastic asset to the club, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved. In true young players style like many previous winners, he celebrated like a Jimmies Vet.

Top Try Scorer – Craig Caunt Winger

A player who had a huge role in the team’s attacking success throughout the year.

1st Team Ties – Carl, Shane & Alex Madden

This season, Carl, @Shane Damsell and Alex Madden were awarded their 1st Team Ties after reaching the milestone required to earn this recognition. A 1st Team Tie is not simply given; it is earned through commitment, consistency and representing the club at the highest level over a sustained period. Reaching this milestone is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication each player has shown to the Jimmies shirt. Congratulations to all three on a well-deserved honour.
I bet you’re all wondering… what about Clubman of the Year?
And you’d be right to ask. We should absolutely celebrate this person and let everyone know. A well-deserved award and some lovely words were said about him on the night.

Clubman of the Year 2025/26 went to John Lewin

Now, if I was a betting man, I wouldn’t have him down as a strong contender to retain it next year…
So congratulations again, Lewin. An outstanding Clubman of the Year performance.

Finally, some news regarding Simon Brooks who will be stepping down from his role as club coach.

As a player, I would first like to say thank you. Simon has given an incredible amount of time, effort and commitment to the Jimmies over a number of years. Through the highs, the lows and everything in between, he has always worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help move us forward.
I think we can all agree that, as players, we haven’t always made life easy for him. There have certainly been a few occasions over the years where we’ve tested his patience, but Simon has always continued to support us, back us and be there when the team needed him.
His contribution to the Jimmies goes far beyond what many people see on a Saturday afternoon, and the club is undoubtedly better for everything he has done.
On a personal note, I hope none of us see Simon’s hand empty of a pint this coming season. It’s the very least he deserves from the players after everything he has done for us.
Although, given those Frodo-sized hands of his, a half pint probably looks just as impressive!
